Platform: Hosted on itch.io 1. OVERVIEW The Cybrella 2026 Game Jam is a fast-paced development challenge where creators must build a functional game from scratch based on a specific theme. This year, we focus on blending regional heritage with futuristic digital mechanics. 2. ELIGIBLE ENGINES & TOOLS To ensure a fair playing field and industry-standard output, participants are restricted to the following game engines: ● Unity ● Godot ● GameMaker Note: Use of "No-Code" builders or engines not listed above (e.g., Unreal Engine, RPG Maker, Scratch) is not permitted for this specific competition. 3. ASSET GUIDELINES ● The "Secret Assets": A specific set of mandatory assets (audio, sprites, or 3D models) will be announced and provided at the start of the Jam. These must be integrated into your game logic. ● Third-Party Assets: You may use open-source assets (CC0 or MIT license) for background music or general textures, but you must credit the sources in your itch.io description. ● Originality: The core gameplay loop and the majority of the code must be written during the duration of the jam. 4. SUBMISSION RULES ● Platform: All entries must be uploaded to itch.io and submitted to the official Cybrella 2026 Jam page before the countdown ends. Format: Games must be playable on Windows (Standalone executable) or Web/HTML5. ● Documentation: Your submission page must include: ○ A brief description of how the game fits the theme. ○ Instructions/Controls. ○ A list of any external assets used. 5. JUDGING CRITERIA ● Entries will be rated by our panel of industry experts on a scale of 1–5 in the following categories: ● Innovation: How creatively did you merge "Culture" and "Technology"? ● Gameplay Mechanics: Is the game fun, functional, and intuitive? ● Technical Execution: Quality of code and stability (lack of game-breaking bugs). ● Asset Integration: How well were the "Secret Assets" incorporated into the experience? 6. COMPETITION TERMS ● Team Size: Maximum of 3 members per team. ● Ethics: No NSFW (Not Safe For Work) content, hate speech, or offensive depictions of regional cultures. ● Ownership: You own the IP of the game you create, but NIELIT/Cybrella reserves the right to use gameplay footage for promotional purposes. 7. DISQUALIFICATION ● Submitting a game started before the Jam began. ● Failing to use one of the three mandated engines (Unity, Godot, GameMaker). ● Plagiarism of code or art assets.
